“I can’t tell you how glad and lucky I feel when I decided to kick off my low carb journey from Sep 2017. I did not start with intention of losing weight but instead I wanted to understand how low carb works. I wanted to know how it can help in fighting diabetes mainly because my dad was worried about our so called “diabetic genes”. Without waiting any longer, I started right away from Sept 2017 together with my family. Surprisingly, weightloss came to me relatively instantly. I reached my “20 years ago” weight in less than 5 months. It became stagnant since then until now but my size seem to be getting smaller. Overall I managed to shed 24kg; from 92 kg to 68 kg. I am currently at approximately 70 kg.
Since I started keto I never had the most talked about keto flu, cough or fever. In fact I felt great all the way. I love the whole journey and I wouldn’t want to change a thing! From this entire journey I have learned to not measure the effectiveness of keto by sheer weight loss, but keep a very close eye on the various health improvements. The key concept for me to stay with keto/low carb until today is “simplicity”. Look at the food label and continue to eat natural wholesome food!
